Heinkel jacket

This is up there my Heinkel, my sister goes Vespa. Together we have made two weeks ago a slightly longer trip and become really wet on the way back ...

occasion for me to finally the long-planned Heinkel jacket sew. This should not only be convenient, but also to fit scooters - that is a good measure of 'Vintage Feeling' radiate

;-) I always go only in summer, is enough for me an unlined jacket. This should be windproof and all conditions necessary to hold some rain. The section 3764 of KwikSew seemed to me as a basis well suited as the material I have Etaproof in 'navy' chosen.

size M would have been enough to chart, but since I like to have a little more relaxed and if necessary even a fleece pullover under it fits, I cut the size XL.

I have extended the cut because of my size to the specified lines to two centimeters. Additionally I have added 4cm hem because the finished jacket will just reaching down to the bench.

The back has been given instead of the center seam two side seams. Because the patterns of KwikSew included Nahtzgaben, I abgschnitten the rear of the center and the new Seams glued 1.5 cm.

front like I have two large slit pockets below the waist with buttoned flaps.

the sleeves I have also extended by 2 cm and the slot for the zip to dart increases, so the sleeves are down close and clean whistle of the wind can not. The blows then that is driving the whole jacket, which is not is beautiful ... was

zippers and snaps in 'old brass' of the fund still here and now I have the ultimate Heinkel jacket :-)

... something far, size L would certainly suffices,
but otherwise it's exactly as I had imagined.
The sleeves are long in 'driving position' enough and sit by the dart at the elbow very well. Below you can button bars with very narrow.

For the unlined jacket and interior looks nice, I've trimmed all visible seams and edges with squared bias tape. The two seams in the back are stitched seams. As the hanger is a piece of ribbon, which had just lying around and by chance the same colors as the bias binding. The back of the pocket bag I've cut so wide that they each extend from side seam to the front dividing seam where they disappear under the document.

back I have something sewn on a strip below the waist and pulled a large rubber band. This keeps the width of something together. For next season I will be the same jacket to sew again - but then times smaller in a different color and a number.
